I have known Nicola most of my life,because his mother was my math professor and they also where our neighbors.I recently bought mangia tiella and was impressed with how easy the recipes where and I love seeing each food items done step by step. There was no doubt that I wouldn't buy this book!I am looking forward to keeping up with the traditions that I was raised with, and making all these sweets!
Being stationed in Japan we will keep eating food from Gaeta thanks to Nicola!

O Sole Mio! This is a great cookbook with many authentic Italian dessert recipes that are easy to make. Inside you will find a nice variety of cakes, cookies and puddings to round out your Italian dessert repertoire. Buon appetito!
Mangia Dolce! is a "must-have" in any Italian cookbook library. The recipes are easy to follow and authentic. Nicola Tarallo has offered an enticing tribute to the Italian dolci of our grandmothers. It is beautifully written and with a sense of family. I highly recommend it!
This is the most amazing cookbook ever! Many American cookbooks might have a picture of the finished product but rarely have I seen one with pictures of how is is supposed to look at the different stages of making it. I love how this one is laid out from the clear-written directions to the pictures. I love the look of the hands that could maybe be Nic's grandmother's hands kneading the dough. I also really like the introduction written by Nic. It truly brings to mind family and how traditions can be handed down. What a wonderful way to bond with one's grandmother!
Many times we see books of Italian recipes, but I have found it more difficult to locate a book that focuses on desserts, or one which contains more than a few dessert choices. Nicola Tarallo, of Gaeta, Italy, has developed this book from his grandmother's family notebook collection, and it is superb! I love that it is authentic and that the ingredients used are not difficult to have available. One of the things that sets it above other recipe books is that there are step-by-step photos for preparing each dessert. Even a person with no cooking experience can follow along and do exactly what it takes for success. There are also pictures of the completed sweets, so a person has an idea of how to serve with elegance. I think this book has what it takes to be an award winner, and the price is very reasonable. Everyone who enjoys making desserts needs to have this, whether interested in Italian food or not! You did it again, Nico!
My mother has been wanting to make Susameglie but wasn't sure of the traditional recipe. It was my grandfathers favorite cookie so I'm so happy it is included in this book. The instructions are very easy to follow and the pictures are great. Thank you so much for sharing the recipes of Gaeta!
